It's the LawKids Under 16: Cannot ride in the back of pickup. They must wear seatbelts, front seat, or back seat. Move Over Law. This new and needed statute requires that if an emergency vehicle is stopped on the side of a 4 lane road, you move to the far lane. Makes sense, and most of us do it already. This just applies penalties for failure to move over. School Buses. On a two lane road, both lanes stop when a school bus has the Stop Sign out. On a divided highway, only the two lanes in which the bus is located must stop. The new law increases penalties, and allows a bus driver to report violators. And report they do – using cell phones, turning in license plate numbers. Buckle Up. 15 year olds and under must wear seat belts, whether in the front seat or the back. Pickup Truck: 15 year olds and under CANNOT ride in the back of a pickup. It is against the law. |
